The CEO of COMETSA GoC International (Pty) Ltd, Mr. Sam Tsima, appointed to the inaugural TUT WIL Advisory Council!
In an exciting development for the Tshwane University of Technology (TUT), Mr. Sam Tsima, the transformative CEO of COMETSA GoC International (Pty) Ltd, has been appointed to the newly established Work Integrated Learning (WIL) Advisory Council. This council, launched by the Directorate of Co-operative Education (DCE), aims to bridge the gap between academia and industry, ensuring that students are well-equipped for the workforce upon graduation.
Mr. Sam Tsima is a renowned leader whose expertise in coaching, management, and leadership has set new benchmarks. His appointment to the TUT WIL Advisory Council is expected to bring significant benefits to the council’s mission of enhancing work-integrated learning programs. As the CEO, Executive & Digital Coach at COMETSA GoC International, he has significantly contributed to human capital development, management consultancy, and business networking. His keynote speech at COMETSA’s 25th Anniversary in August 2017 showcased his transformative vision.
Certified by the International Coaching Federation (ICF) as a Professional Certified Coach (PCC), Sam is pursuing a Masters in Executive Coaching at Hult Ashridge Executive Education in London, UK. With a coaching history dating back to 2010, he has conducted over 1,300 coaching sessions, totaling 2,450 hours. His skills are highly valued, and he has been retained by the Johannesburg Business School to assist MBA students through Executive Coaching.
In addition to his coaching prowess, Sam is a Certified Digital Coach with CoachHub, a prestigious global digital coaching organization headquartered in Berlin. He also serves as Head Tutor and Assessor for the UCT GSB Executive Leadership course through the GetSmarter platform.
Sam’s qualifications include a Bachelor of Commerce from UNISA, a Postgraduate Diploma in Practitioner Coaching from The Coaching Centre (TCC), and various international qualifications, including a Diploma in German Language and an Industriekaufmann certification from Germany. His extensive background and credentials make him a valuable asset to the TUT WIL Advisory Council.
The Deputy Chairperson, Cynthia Reynders, highlighted the council’s significance, stating it is crucial for aligning university curricula with industry requirements. The council, with members like Sam Tsima, will recommend potential curriculum changes to produce employable graduates.
Council Chairperson, Mxolisi Mathebula, emphasized the Advisory Council’s goal of fostering effective collaboration between industry and the institution.
