The 25th Anniversary Year Reflections at COMETSA Continue! We are marking this year, 2022, as our 25th Anniversary Year by sharing the stories that take us back to where it all started. In 1997, the year in which the organisation was established as a development football club in Hillbrow, Johannesburg, I was the Human Resources Consultant at Absa Bank. The article in the picture was a feature in the ABACUS, The Visible Voice, Staff Newspaper for the ABSA Group, Volume 8 No. 8 on the 15th May 1998. In response to the initiative, the then ABSA CEO, Mr Nallie Bosman, recognised me with this award in the picture, during the annual staff awards of 1998, for my contribution to the Johannesburg inner city community through this development football initiative. We remember, celebrate the journey, and the milestones achieved. I thank my ABSA management, leadership, colleagues, and staff of those years for being receptive to the initiative.
